Outlander Season 6 is not coming to STARZ in June 2021
We’re all waiting for Droughtlander to come to an end. It’s going to take some extra time. Outlander Season 6 is not coming to STARZ next month.
We know Droughtlander is hard, and it can be long. The longest up to this point had been between Seasons 2 and 3, and STARZ tried to avoid that ever happening again. That’s the reason for the two-season renewals, and now the reason for the early Season 7 renewal.
Sadly, nobody could plan for this Droughtlander. Nobody knew the pandemic was going to happen or the effect it would have on filming. Outlander Season 6 didn’t get back to filming when it was supposed to, and it ended up being January 2021 by the time filming could start up.
The list of STARZ releases for June 2021 is out and Outlander Season 6 isn’t on the list. We’ve checked it twice just in case there was some sort of surprise.
When will Outlander Season 6 premiere?
It’s going to take some time for the show to premiere. It usually takes a year to get through both the filming and the post-production stage to make sure things look right for the screen.
With a January start for filming, we’re looking at around January 2022 at the earliest for a premiere date. There is a small chance that the show will premiere at the end of 2021, but it’s a very small chance. And I don’t want to offer false hope.
It is possible that STARZ will split the season in two due to the delay. It could opt for something like it does with Power or something that HBO did with The Nevers. This would allow the first six episodes to arrive in 2021 and the second six episodes to arrive in 2022.
This is all something we’re keeping an eye on here at Claire and Jamie.
Outlander Seasons 1 to 5 are on STARZ.
