What was Amalia’s big secret on The Nevers Season 1?
From the beginning of The Nevers Season 1, we knew Amalia True had a big secret. What was that secret? Where had she come from?
You’ve had the chance to catch up on The Nevers Season 1. As an Outlander fan, this is certainly a series to watch. Laura Donnelly plays the lead, Amalia True.
From the start, it was clear there was more to Amalia. We all had our theories, including the fact that she was some sort of alien who was trapped on Earth. It turned out the theories were wrong.
The Nevers Season 1, Episode 6 explained it all. And it wasn’t what many of us were expecting, but it explained a lot.
Amalia True wasn’t an alien in The Nevers Season 1
If you thought Amalia was some sort of alien, that’s not really the truth. It turns out that Amalia was a time traveler! It’s even more of a reason to watch this series as an Outlander fan!
It turned out that the Touched is linked to a war in the future. In that war, Stripe is sent to the past and ends up trapped in Amalia’s body in the river. The real Amalia True is dead. She died from drowning, and now Stripe has taken over the body.
I just want to stop the explanation to praise Laura Donnelly for her acting skills in The Nevers Season 1, Episode 6. We get a chance to see Amalia (well, Molly) before Stripe took over her body. Molly is a timid woman who allows life to pass her by. She is easily influenced, and it’s not hard to see how this woman could end up leading to death by suicide.
When Donnelly becomes Amalia, there’s a clear difference between the characters. And then we get the buildup to Amalia becoming the confidence woman she is, with the flashes of her getting used to the past.
Back to who Amalia is. She is Stripe, although Stripe didn’t seem to intend what happened. She may have accidentally landed in the past or been placed there by aliens, but it’s clear that being stuck in the past was never her intention. She fears that she’s not a leader, and now she needs to figure out how to protect the Earth from what’s to come.
