There is still a lot going on within the world of The Nevers, but storylines seem to be converging. At the end of the previous episode, Amalia got a message that made it clear she’s not alone. The relief was overpowering, but it means she’s focused back on whatever mission she had in the first place.
Meanwhile, Penance will find herself on the opposite side of whatever this argument is. What Amalia wants to do doesn’t sit right with Penance, and so the two women will split the Orphans.
Some will certainly follow Amalia, but Penance has been the heart of the group from the very beginning. She’s kind and generous, and it’s clear that many of the Orphans connect to her more than Amalia. And so, there’s probably a good amount of them that will choose her side.
And this is where some of the feelings of Buffy come in. In Season 7, Buffy found herself pushed out of the group of Potentials because she wanted something that the rest didn’t. In the end, it worked out that they needed Buffy, which suggests the Orphans will realize they need Amalia.
Will Maladie be hanged in The Nevers Season 1, Episode 5?
There’s a hanging taking place, and this hanging is going to be a public spectacle. Many hangings were in the past, so this isn’t all that surprising. The question is who will be the one hanged.
It’s probably Maladie. At the end of the previous episode, the police finally caught her. Considering she’s Touched and she is believed responsible for Mary’s death, a few people going to want to make this as public as possible. Will it go off without a hitch? Chances are Maladie will be alive by the end of the episode.
