A Discovery of Witches tells the story of witch Diana Bishop and vampire Matthew Clairmont. When Diana finds Ashmore 782, she ends up with witches, daemons, and vampires after her. Some want the book to destroy all other species while others want the book to help all magical creatures. The question is who will get their hands on it.

However, Diana then needs to find it again. She and Matthew team up (and fall in love in the process) to find “The Book of Life.”

The great news is that a third season is definitely happening. And yes, that third season finished filming earlier this year. You would hope then that we’ll get the episodes by the end of the year, right?

A Discovery of Witches Season 3 isn’t coming in 2021

That is sadly not the plan. We won’t see the new season before this year is out. There’s a lot of post-production work that needs to happen on this series.

The show confirmed it wouldn’t bring the third season until 2022 after the second season finished airing. It’s confirmed this once more.

While the wait is long, it’s not as long as waiting for the second season. And we know that it will be worth it. This is a chance to see what the Book of Life really means for everyone, along with what is really in store for Diana and Matthew in the future.

The third season takes the characters back to the present day, but watch out for faces from the past to show up. That’s the benefit of vampires and immortal creatures.
