Laura Donnelly stands out from the crowd on The Nevers, but there are plenty of questions about her character. Will we get some answers on Episode 2?
We knew as our main protagonist that Donnelly’s Amalia True was going to be special in some way. She is one of the Touched, but she is also the one that seems to offer the most protection to others who are Touched.
It’s more than that, though, Amalia seems to have superhuman strength. She has fighting skills that she didn’t seem to have before she was Touched. She has a confidence that her character didn’t seem to have when she threw herself in the water to die.
So, it looks like there is something more going on. Is there a chance that we’ll get some answers about her in the upcoming episode?
What to expect on The Nevers Season 1, Episode 2
This show is more than about Amalia True, though. Ignoring the Whedon problems within the series (yes, there are many elements that are just like Buffy the Vampire Slayer), there is a lot going on within the series. Sometimes it feels like a little too much, but chances are that all these story threads will connect in some way.
During The Nevers Season 1, Episode 2, Lavinia Bidlow wants to get rid of the stigma surrounding the Touched. That’s not surprising considering she’s set up a refuge for them. That’s possibly linked to a family member being one of this group.
However, the big focus is on Maladie right now. She’s kidnapping the Touched and is considered the serial killer. What are the chances that she’s not the serial killer but is collecting her group to protect them? Is it possible that really it’s the mad doctor who is doing experiments on the Touched that is the serial killer Amalia is really after?
