Ron D. Moore is taking up another book adaptation. He’s joining Sarah J. Maas to adapt her novel A Court of Thorns and Roses, but what is the book about?

The news about the adaptation arrived earlier this month. It doesn’t affect Outlander, where Moore has already stepped down from the day-to-day running of things. It could affect For All Mankind, but considering the project that it is, it’s unlikely.

The new adaptation is A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas. In fact, Maas is joining him to work on the pilot episode.

Right now, the series is just at a pilot stage. It will head to Hulu if picked up to series.

What is A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas about?

The book follows Feyre, a woman who has to hunt to survive. It’s a bleak winter, and when she spots a deer being chased by a wolf, she has to go after both.

Killing the wolf is a big mistake. She’s dragged to a magical creature for killing a faerie, where she starts to feel things for her captor, a man with a jeweled mask hiding his face. As the faeries lands become all the more dangerous, she realizes she needs to break the curse against her captor or risk losing him forever.

How many books are in the series?

A Court of Thorns and Roses is just the first book in a series. There are four main books and then a novella. You’ll want to read them in order, with the novella coming between the third and fourth books.

If you love those books, Maas has another series that can help you get through Droughtlander. Check out the Throne of Glass series.
