Foreshadowing in the Outlander chapter

There isn’t much in the way of foreshadowing in this chapter. It’s all about wrapping up this part of the story and pushing forward with the plot.

This chapter is necessary in the book for the next few chapters. Roger and Brianna are finally going to make a choice.

Adapting the Drums of Autumn chapter

As you know, this chapter wasn’t used in the TV series. It wouldn’t fit into the end of the season with the way Roger came back, but this could have been useful at the start of Outlander Season 5. Instead, the show opted to jump straight to the wedding.

It is a shame the conversation was taken out. Seeing Bree also not too certain now that Roger was back would have been good to see. After all, this wasn’t just about Roger choosing Bree and the baby but also about Bree choosing Roger again.

Skipping it did work, but it wasn’t as good for Brianna’s development on the show. To be honest, Bree’s development on the show is something that I’m not a big fan of most of the time.
