Men in Kilts Season 1, Episode 7 is going to take us on a journey into the Scottish clans. And there is a deep history there that is far more than anything Outlander could ever give us. However, the two actors will delve into the clans of the characters they played on the show, as well as looking at their own personal clans.
In fact, we’ll take a trip to Graham McTavish’s ancestral home. It’s not a place to physically live now, but that doesn’t stop it from being special.
A history of the clans and tartans on Men in Kilts Season 1, Episode 7
We’ll dive into the dark history of the clans. While most clans now just like to celebrate their history and connect with other members of the same clan around the world, the past was very different. Your clan was your identity, and clans would have interconnected pasts whether good or bad.
The tartan was also special. There were different types of tartan depending on everyday wear and ceremonial dress. However, despite Braveheart telling us so, tartans haven’t been around forever. It’s time to find out when they became a part of Scottish clan identity.
This is the penultimate episode of the season (and possibly the series). It’s the finale next week.
