Is Outlander Season 7 coming in 2021?
We know Outlander Season 7 is officially happening. Eyes are on when it will premiere. Will Outlander Season 7 premiere in 2021?
The good news is that we now know Outlander Season 7 is happening. STARZ renewed the series in March 2021.
With the early renewal comes a chance to keep Droughtlander to a minimum. Does that mean we could see the seventh season sometime this year?
Honestly? I’d say definitely not. I’ll just be honest there. It would take an absolute miracle for the seventh season to arrive in 2021.
After all, we haven’t even seen Outlander Season 6 premiere yet! The season is still filming, and isn’t likely to be done until the end of the year.
When could Outlander Season 7 premiere?
Right now, Outlander Season 6 filming is happening. That started in January 2021, and there’s a slim chance we’ll see the season arrive before the end of 2021. My safest estimation right now is the beginning of 2022.
We could see Season 7 start filming before 2021 closes out. However, we’re probably looking at the start of 2023 as a premiere date for the season.
It would still keep Droughtlander to a minimum. The longest Droughtlander has been between Seasons 5 and 6 (or it will be by the time Season 6 premieres) but the pandemic has everything to blame for that. Before that, the break between Seasons 2 and 3 was the longest due to how long it can take to film a season.
The renewal for Season 3 (and also Season 4) came during the second season too. At least pre-production work can start on Season 7 for a late-2021 start to filming. Keeping Droughtlander to a minimum. Just don’t expect the season in 2021. It’s simply not possible.
Outlander Season 7 will mostly follow An Echo to the Bone. However, seasons have started to combine some of the book storylines so we could see some of Written In My Own Heart’s Blood included in the seventh season.
