Outlander Season 6 is now filming, and all eyes are on when it will premiere. Fans also want to know if Outlander Season 6 will be on Netflix.
Let’s start with the bad news. Outlander Season 6 isn’t going to come straight to Netflix. The series is a STARZ Original so the season will head to STARZ first. That’s just business.
However, that doesn’t mean you’ll never be able to watch the season on Netflix. It will take a while because STARZ will want to make the season exclusive to its streamer for as long as possible, but it could eventually arrive on Netflix.
This just isn’t a guarantee at this point. We don’t know how long the deal for Outlander to head to Netflix is going to stand. Former STARZ CEO Chris Albrecht was the one who organized that and new CEO Jeremy Hirsch wasn’t happy about it. There’s just no denying the benefit having the show on Netflix has done for it.
When could Outlander Season 6 come to Netflix?
We’re looking at a relatively long wait for the arrival. First of all, we don’t have a premiere date for STARZ.
With the show only starting to film back in January 2021, we’re looking at January 2022 as a potential premiere date. Maybe it could arrive at the end of the 2021, but I work on the more conservative side of things, especially right now. Filming is taking longer than normal due to pandemic protocols in place and we have no idea if filming will need to shut down at some point.
2022 seems like a better year for all. So, that’s what we’ll work with.
If the show premieres early 2022, we’re looking at spring or early summer of that same year for the finale. This is the date it looks like we need to keep in mind for when the show drops a new season on Netflix. It takes two years from the finale date, so we’re looking at the middle of 2024 for Outlander Season 6 to be on Netflix.
