Outlander Season 6 spoilers: Who could Alexander Vlahos play?

Alexander Vlahos is in Glasgow for a project, and fans are wondering if it’s Outlander

Outlander Season 6 is due to start filming any day now, and fans want to know who could be playing some of the new characters we will meet.  We might have an answer in Alexander Vlahos.

According to Outlander: Behind the Scenes, Vlahos tweeted he was headed to Glasgow for filming on Jan. 4.  Richard Rankin replied with an invite to tea, adding fuel to the rumor fire.  When someone else asked what he was doing, the Welshman responded “TOP SECRET.”

So we don’t know for sure that Alexander Vlahos will be in Season 6, but there’s a good chance of it.  The bigger question is: what role might he be playing?  Let’s take a look at the characters in A Breath of Snow and Ashes to find some possibilities.

There will be a few minor spoilers from the book.

Alexander Vlahos could be grown-up William, Bobby Higgins, or Allan Christie in Season 6

A favorite theory is that Vlahos could be playing Jamie’s son William.  The actor is slighter than William is described, but that doesn’t necessarily knock him out of contention.  After all, show Brianna is shorter than book Bree, and it hasn’t caused any issues.

However, William only appears at the very end of A Breath of Snow and Ashes so it seems unlikely they would need him at the beginning of filming.  Then again, Season 5 borrowed from Book 6 so Season 6 could very well borrow some of William’s adventures from An Echo in the Bone.

Outlander: BTS suggested that he might have been cast as Bobby Higgins.  Bobby is a former soldier who took part in the Boston Massacre and later becomes a servant for Lord John.  He spends a lot of time ferrying things between Virginia and the Ridge.

If you’ll remember though, Lord John was leaving for England at the end of Season 5 so he probably won’t be in the Colonies in Season 6.  Of course that doesn’t mean that the writers won’t find another way to bring Bobby to Fraser’s Ridge.

My other theory is that he might be playing Allan Christie, son of Tom and brother of Malva.  His character wasn’t mentioned in the Christmas video with the other two, but in the book he plays a big role in all the Christie drama.  I imagine he will be included.
