Sam Heughan teases THAT storyline is coming in Season 6
Outlander dropped a video on Christmas Day, and Sam Heughan teased new Outlander Season 6 characters
The Outlander social media accounts gave fans a gift for Christmas. They released a video on Dec. 25 featuring Sam Heughan, Caitriona Balfe, Sophie Skelton, and Richard Rankin in the costume department talking about prep for Outlander Season 6.
The actors reveal that adaptations and preparations are underway for filming the new season. Sophie shows us some costumes, and Richard, sporting some seriously luscious long locks, jokes that the extended Droughtlander is due to waiting for his hair to grow out.
Sophie gives a spoiler alert but then says she can’t give many spoilers. However, Sam Heughan lets an important something slip.
Sam Heughan reveals that the Christies are coming to Fraser’s Ridge in Season 6
Book readers will be very familiar with the Christies, who play an important part in the events of Diana Gabaldon’s sixth Outlander book, A Breath of Snow and Ashes. Sam confirms that Tom Christie and his daughter will indeed be a part of Outlander Season 6.

Sam describes Tom as “one of Jamie’s ancient foes” whom he knew at Ardsmuir Prison. Apparently, he’s going to make a “power play” when he gets to the Ridge. Sam also mentions many new settlers so their differences might be over religion (Tom’s a Protestant) like they were in the book.
Sam also mentions that Christie’s daughter “becomes a very, very special part of this story.” Her name was Malva in the book, and she became Claire’s dedicated apprentice. If they stick with the book story, she will help Claire through a difficult time, but is she really as helpful as she seems?
Book readers have been wondering if the Christies would be included for some time now so it’s good to have an answer at last. From Sam’s comments it sounds like they’ll have a big impact on events on Fraser’s Ridge in the show, too.
