Just the Outlander chapter

The chapter starts with the Frasers, Young Ian, and Stern getting back to the beach. There is some trouble, though. The Bruja, with the slaves who stole the ship, has run aground. At the same time, the little boat the smugglers have is coming around the island with the Porpoise closeby.

The Porpoise is actually there for the Bruja, but it very quickly turns its attention on the Frasers. The Porpoise chases everyone out to sea. It’s a rough journey, too, with a storm picking up. That storm is turning into a hurricane.

Claire watches as the waves take down the Porpoise. Everyone will be lost at sea. It would be sad if it wasn’t for the fact that Thomas Leonard was constantly firing upon them. Claire does hope that Annejka wasn’t on the boat, though; that she was with her goats on dry land.

There isn’t time to really think about the Porpoise no longer following them. Their boat is caught in the hurricane, and it’s difficult to keep things under control.

Suddenly, Claire is thrown overboard. She can feel something on her leg pulling her down, but Jamie comes to save her.

There’s that moment as Jamie tells Claire that she better not die on him, or he’ll kill her himself. He’s scared of losing her, especially after everything they’ve been through.

When Claire next wakes, she’s in a house. Jamie explains that Claire had been thrown overboard when the mast on the ship broke. He went in after her to get rid of the rigging that was pulling her down, but it looks like it’s broken her leg.

Everyone on the ship is fine. The ship has run aground and people are going out to everyone. However, Jamie admits that he’s lost the photos of Brianna and the portrait of Willie. He’ll just have to keep them in his memory.

Where are they, though? It turns out the storm blew them way off course. They are now in Georgia.

It’s time to start a new life.
