Claire and Jamie are caught in a storm in Outlander Book 3, Chapter 63

So we make it to the final chapter of Voyager. Diana Gabaldon certainly knows how to end a book. It’s time to break down the events of Outlander Book 3, Chapter 63.

The chapter finds the Frasers and others on the seas again, although Poseidon clearly isn’t all that happy. With the stormy weather, Jamie, Claire, and the smugglers just need to try to keep their little ship afloat.

There is a sea chase at the same time. We get to see the Porpoise story come to a complete end, although this isn’t what happened in the TV show.

In fact, the TV show only kept the storm. That was the only necessary part for the ending of the season, getting Claire and Jamie to the colonies, where they get the chance to start a new life together.

It’s a relatively long chapter, coming in at around one hour and 20 minutes. This is also a chapter packed with action and detail. It becomes easy to speed read as you feel the drama of the chapter, but you’ll want to slow down and read all the details.

Let’s take a dive into Voyager Chapter 63, ending the Outlander Book Club for 2020. (We’ll be back next year!)
