The chance to talk about their favorite scenes came because of a fan question. They both also shared their reasons for their preferences.
Sam Heughan loved a finale scene
It may seem surprising, but for Sam Heughan, it was all about the Outlander Season 5 finale. There is a scene after Jamie rescues Claire where they are by a river, and apparently, it was very noisy with the waterfall that you can’t see!
He had plenty of praise for his co-star in this scene. But there was also the fact that this scene had a weight to it that others didn’t. There was a chance to really play off each other in a time of struggle, and that’s something he enjoyed as an actor.
Caitriona Balfe loved the drunken walk in Outlander Season 5
For Caitriona Balfe, it was all about the drunken walk while the two characters were at Brownsville. The two characters had a chance to take a breather from everything that was happening up to this point. It was lighthearted, and we need these sorts of scenes in the show.
Heughan pointed out that it was a chance to show just how much Claire and Jamie are still in love. That’s certainly something fans have needed to see for some time, and it is a favorite scene for many. In fact, it made our list of 25 best Claire and Jamie scenes during the Season 5 run.
