Caitriona Balfe shares what she’s looking forward to on Outlander Season 6
What should we expect for Claire on Outlander Season 6?
Outlander Season 6 isn’t going to happen for some time, but that doesn’t mean we’re not excited about it. There are lots of things we hope to see from the book, but what about the stars? Caitriona Balfe has shared what she’s looking forward to playing out during the season.
Her answer came during the Outlander End of Summer Event fourth episode. She and Sam Heughan discussed what they’d been up to during lockdown and got onto some fan questions. One thing she wanted to know from Heughan was what he was looking forward to seeing in the sixth season, which led to the storyline for Claire.
We’ve left the family in a fractured state. While they’re all together on the Ridge, they’re all dealing with situations in their own way. Claire has the most to deal with, working through the trauma from the events in the Outlander Season 5 finale.
Seeing how the family comes together
Balfe shared that something she is excited to see is how the family will come together to help Claire deal with her trauma. Almost every one of the main characters at the Ridge have been through some sort of trauma, whether it’s rape, near-death experiences, or even the loss of people they love.
There is hope the show will offer some time for Claire to deal with the trauma. One of the things I loved about Outlander Season 2 in Paris was seeing Jamie not just instantly deal with his trauma. It took him time to be able to separate Black Jack Randall and Claire in his mind.
Claire doesn’t have the issue of separating Jamie and Lionel Brown, but she will have the issue of not feeling safe in her own home. There’s also a certain time traveler who is still somewhere out there.
