What is Sam Heughan looking forward to happening in Outlander Season 6?
Outlander Season 6 is still a fair while away. Writing has been ongoing, but filming isn’t starting up just yet. That doesn’t stop us thinking about what we’d love to see from the books.
Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe talked about what they would like to see happen in the sixth season. Heughan went first with a confession that may surprise everyone. It turns out he may not have read the whole book!
When Balfe asked him what he was looking forward to, Heughan quickly shared that he’s about halfway through the book. It’s not clear whether he’s read the entire book in the past and this is a reread, but he made it sound like he doesn’t know all of the storylines that are to come. That should change before it comes around to filming, especially with him being one of the producers.

A fractured family on Outlander Season 6
Since he hasn’t read the entire book yet, Heughan mentioned that he is looking forward to what the writers come up with. The stars remain positive about the show, even when they know the fans may not like some of the adaptations. There is a lot of work that goes into turning the books into a TV show and making sure everything fits for all types of viewers.
Heughan did mention that the family is together but fractured. The events of the Season 5 finale have left the various members of the family in different places. At the same time, it’s pulled some of them closer.
The focus quickly turned to Claire’s healing that she needs to do. We all know Jamie will be there for her, offering whatever she needs to get through this.
