Sam Heughan reveals UK and US covers for Clanlands book

We can’t wait for the Clanlands book from Sam Heughan and Graham McTavish

November cannot come fast enough. Clanlands: Whisky, Warfare, and a Scottish Adventure Like Not Other will be officially released.

Up to this point, we’ve had a stand-in cover. It’s been one of the photos from Men in Kilts, the upcoming show on STARZ. The show was originally going to be a podcast called Clanlands, but after all the fun the two Outlander stars had in Scotland, it turned into a TV show and a book to accompany it.

Now the official covers are out. We get a look at both the UK and the U.S. covers. While the images chosen are different, “whisky” is still spelled the British way in both of them. Sometimes, the different spellings and pronunciations can be confusing (the pronunciation of Lieutenant, anyone?) but “whisky” is not spelled wrong even though my Grammarly is trying to tell me it is!

Can you choose between the covers? If you’ve pre-ordered from a UK retailer, you will be able to get the UK cover. That’s even if you’re in the U.S. At least, that’s something the official Clanlands website says at the time of writing this. If you pre-order from a U.S. website, you’ll get the U.S. exclusive cover.

What to expect in Clanlands?

Originally, Clanlands was going to be a podcast. It was going to be Sam Heughan and Graham McTavish discussing Scottish history, the beauty of the Highlands, and much more. This was a chance to delve deeper into the history that Outlander can only scratch the surface on.

However, it quickly turned into something more. Men In Kilts will give us a chance to see their road trip. There isn’t a release date for that just yet.

The book will go into other details. It’s a chance to learn more about what the two experienced while on the road. We all know books can go into more detail.
