Will Outlander prepare to shutdown filming temporarily like The Batman?

After just starting filming three days ago, The Batman filming has stopped temporarily. With Outlander Season 6 preparing to film soon, will it be ready for something like this to happen?

Deadline reports that Robert Pattinson has tested positive for COVID-19, which means he needs to go into self-isolation. Filming can’t resume until he is able to return. As more TV shows and movies start to return to production, it’s something they will all need to consider.

And this brings us onto Outlander. Everyone is getting ready for Season 6 filming to begin. Sam Heughan had previously said filming would start sometime in the fall, and John Bell has started to prepare for Young Ian to return. It’s going to be exciting, but there are also going to be a lot of protocols in place.

Even with protocols, there’s no guarantee a cast or crew member won’t come down with the virus. Some people are asymptomatic and it can take a few days for symptoms to appear.

Outlander Season 6 will need to be ready for this

There’s no doubt that everyone will likely be preparing for a shutdown temporarily. Parents around the world are currently looking at their plans for if children are sent home. Being prepared for something like this is the best possible option right now. If those plans don’t have to be enacted, that’s great. If they do, then there’s minimal stress.

There will be some strict guidelines for filming. NCIS: LA has returned to filming, with star Daniela Ruah sharing that everyone is wearing masks onset except while filming. That will likely be the case on Outlander, too.

While there may be a rough timeline to start and finish, the dates aren’t going to be set in stone this year. There’s no way that anyone can predict if a temporary shutdown is necessary, and the self-isolation period is at least 14 days, depending on how long symptoms last.

So, everyone on Outlander will be vigilant and ready just in case a temporary shutdown is necessary. I have no doubt about that.
