Outlander will be at the virtual PaleyFest 2020
PaleyFest 2020 is going virtual, and Outlander is going to be one of the panels
Like SDCC 2020, PaleyFest is going virtual. The PaleyFest 2020 lineup has been confirmed, and Outlander is among the list of panels.
I’ll be honest and say that I’m pleasantly surprised that Outlander is included. With no filming happening, there’s going to be little to talk about for Season 6. However, we could get an indication of when filming is going to start during the panel.
TVLine states that the virtual event will be on Aug. 10. If you’re a Paley Center member or a Citi card member, you’ll get early access on Aug. 7.
What to expect during the virtual Outlander panel
Many panels have gone virtual this year, and they’ve been excellent events. The Paley Center has offered a number of Paley Front Row events, starting with older panels now being shared online and moving into these virtual events where the cast and EPs get together to tease upcoming seasons or episodes.
It’s going to be interesting to see what Outlander does. Stars Caitriona Balfe, Sam Heughan, Sophie Skelton, and Richard Rankin will be involved, as well as EPs Matt B. Roberts and Maril Davis. Diana Gabaldon will also take part.
Since filming hasn’t happened yet, we mused that there was no point doing a panel just yet. It’s why Outlander didn’t get a Comic-Con@Home panel. What’s changed for a panel just a few weeks later?
With Roberts and Davis involved, we could get some teases of Season 6 as the writing has been ongoing throughout the pandemic. Gabaldon could also possibly tease something about the ninth book in the story.
The actors will likely look back at Season 5. This could be a chance to share what they hope to see in the sixth season, with Heughan and Balfe possibly teasing things from a producer level. We may also get some sort of confirmation on when filming will resume.
You can tune in through The Paley Center YouTube channel to watch the virtual panel take place on Aug. 10.
