Clan Lands becomes Men in Kilts, picked up by STARZ
STARZ will bring Men in Kilts with Sam Heughan and Graham McTavish
When Sam Heughan announced he would be on Good Morning America on June 10, all Outlander fans wondered what the news would be. We’d hoped it would be something to do with the show, but it’s something just as exciting. It was all about Men in Kilts.
Graham McTavish joined the Outlander lead, sharing an update about what was originally the Clan Lands Podcast. As they filmed their activities around Scotland learning about the history, the two realized they had something more. Suring Sasnak City 2019, McTavish confirmed that Clan Lands was no longer going to be a podcast but a TV show. They just needed to find a network to pick it up.
It only seems natural that STARZ would pick up the docuseries. After all, this is the network that brought the two together and to us with Outlander.
Renamed Men in Kilts for the docuseries
Not only is the concept changing, but so is the name. Clan Lands is now Men in Kilts. It focuses on Heughan’s and McTavish’s journey around Scotland, learning about the history and culture throughout different parts of their home.
The journey around Scotland was important for the two of them. They already knew a lot about Scotland, it being their home. However, they learned much more, traveling many of the locations that Outlander has used either as a backdrop or as a named location.
It turns out they may learn a little more about Culloden than they did from the show and the books. During the interview on Good Morning America, Ginger Zee asked the two of them if they could have gone back to shoot Culloden differently now that they know a little more, and Sam certainly agreed with that.
We don’t know yet when Men in Kilts will air on STARZ. That’s something we’ll keep you updated about.
