Ranking all the seasons of Outlander from worst to best
Outlander Season 1
Wait, Outlander Season 1 isn’t the best? Sorry, but nope! As much as I love the first season, there is another that stands out as the best for me.
However, the first season is always going to rank highly. It starts the tale and gives us the introduction to all the characters. Most importantly, I get to see Tobias Menzies fully take on two different roles in one show—and he is the reason I gave the show a chance in the first place.
The first season did have some standout moments. I know “The Wedding” is a favorite episode for many, but I also adored “The Search”—and adore it more as I watch it more—to see Claire and Murtagh’s bond become firm. Seeing Claire do everything she can to get to the stones is also important, especially with Frank on the other side.
Outlander Season 5
Right now, it’s the fifth season that wins it for me. This is a season that captured so much greatness for all characters. We got individual storylines for each of the four main characters, and finally got some of the character development for Roger and Brianna that I’d been waiting for.
There were highs and lows throughout. We got to see each of the characters go through some of the most stressful experiences ever, and they’ve all come out the other side. These moments will last in their minds, but they are stronger because of them and better people in spite of them.
The Battle of Alamance was handled well. The use of Jamie wearing the red coat was everything. And of course, knowing that Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe had more say meant that much of the later moments made far more sense than moments in previous seasons.
