4. Roger and Brianna finding home

We quickly found out what happened to Roger and Brianna at the stones. They traveled but only by a few minutes. But how? They were both thinking of home.

Roger later admits that home is in the past. This is where their hearts lie; it’s what the stones understood. I love that it was Roger who views it this way. Of course, Brianna will already be thinking this but we needed to hear it from Roger.

3. Marsali’s actions against Lionel Brown

Claire wouldn’t do anyone any harm. That’s her oath and despite everything, she’s going to stick to that oath. However, as Marsali said, she’s not taken that sort of oath.

There was a lot to love about Marsali in this scene. She didn’t just take a life because she hated Lionel. She did it for her “Ma.” And yes, I love that she continues to call Claire her Ma after the first instance before the birth of Felicite. This shows just how far this relationship and bond have developed.

The aftermath also stands out. Marsali is scared that she did the wrong thing. Will she go to hell? No, but I think she’ll blame herself for what’s to come with Henri-Christian—no spoilers for those who haven’t read the books.
