The Outlander Season 5 finale brought us a harrowing experience for Claire. Here are the top moments from throughout the episode.

The Outlander Season 5 finale brought a harrowing storyline. Claire faced abuse and torture from her captors, which would play on her mind afterward. However, it also brought us Jamie, Young Ian, Fergus, Roger, and more fighting for her.

Like with previous episodes, it’s time to look at the top moments. While they was certainly a difficult episode to watch for Claire’s storyline, it was also a major one for other characters. We saw development that should continue into Season 6.

These moments aren’t just about the main characters but about the episode as a whole. Here are the five moments that stand out the most for me.

5. Richard Brown declaring a blood feud

At the end of the episode, Jamie took Lionel Brown’s body back to Brownsville. Lionel had warned that his death would mean Richard would come after the Frasers. However, this isn’t going to be an immediate attack.

Richard Brown understands Jamie’s decision to kill all the men that attacked Claire. Jamie did what he needed to do. At the same time, Richard made it clear that this is now a blood feud. Richard will come after the Frasers when the time is right for him.

While it’s natural to want to hate someone going up against our protagonists, we’ve got to look at this from Richard’s point of view. Despite Lionel’s faults, they were brothers. Blood bonds were strong in this time, and Richard will want to avenge his brother. It certainly sets up the threat of drama in the future.
