Why there wasn’t a promo for a new Outlander episode this week

The end of each Outlander episode usually brings us a promo for the following week and the Inside the World segment. Where was the promo this week?

Each week, we stick around until the end of each Outlander episode for extra content. Usually, we get a promo for the next episode and the Inside the World segment. This week, there was only the Inside the World segment. So why wasn’t there a promo?

We knew going into this season that there were only 12 episodes instead of the 13 that Seasons 2 to 4 got. Sadly, the episode that we watched on May 10 was the 12th episode of the season. That was the season finale, so there’s no need for a promo. There’s no more new content coming for a while.

We’re now waiting for the DVD and Blu-ray release date. There may be some Outlander Untold bonus footage, which is content filmed specifically for the DVD and Blu-ray extras. They’re content that wouldn’t fit in the main story but help to develop characters more and give fans something different.

The good news is that there is a sixth season. Outlander Season 6 pre-production is still ongoing but filming can’t happen just yet due to the current coronavirus pandemic. There are some heavy restrictions around the UK right now. However, virtual work can happen.

Filming was supposed to start this month. Now it sounds like filming won’t happen until the fall. We’re probably looking at a fall 2021 release date for the sixth season instead of the spring 2021 release date we were hoping for.

And we certainly have a lot of questions after the Outlander Season 5 finale. It’s no wonder you were hoping for a promo to get ready for another new episode!
