Richard Brown introduced a few men during Outlander Season 5, Episode 11. It looked (and sounded) like one of them could be Wendigo Donner.

During Outlander Season 5, Episode 11, Richard Brown introduced us to the men who would eventually abduct Claire. There was one who stood out for his strong American accent. Did we meet Wendigo Donner?

This is a character who appears in “A Breath of Snow and Ashes.” That means there will be spoilers from the books if you haven’t got through them yet.

Wendigo Donner is mentioned in the fifth book, “The Fiery Cross.” After he’s mentioned in the journal that Young Ian brings back from the Mohawk—Otter Tooth’s journal—Brianna remembers the Montauk Five who disappeared in 1968.

It turns out they attempted to travel. While Otter Tooth went too far in the past, Donner landed in 1766. In the sixth book, he is among the men who capture Claire. However, it’s later that we find out he’s a time traveler, when he’s whistling “Yellow Submarine” and Brianna recognizes it.

There’s a character on Outlander Season 5, Episode 11 that could certainly be Donner. He had long black hair and was only briefly seen with Brown’s men. He also had a clear American accent. In this time, many still have European accents. It’s only Brianna who has the “strange” American accent, so this could have been the giveaway that we’ve met another time traveler.

I don’t remember his name being mentioned. It could have been and I missed it. However, there are a lot of suggestions that we could have his storyline pop up.

He plays a bigger role in Season 6. If this is Donner, I expect him to be a character that gets away from the group during Outlander Season 5’s finale. This will allow his story to be told throughout Season 6.

Of course, his storyline could be avoided altogether and he could be killed off in the finale. That would seem odd considering his storyline is linked to the reason the Big House catches fire and Bree and Roger head back to the past in the first place.
