Outlander Season 5, Episode 10 wasn’t really a big episode for Claire Fraser, but that didn’t mean her knowledge didn’t come in handy. She had an important role in finding Brianna. It’s time to look back over her best moments.

I know there are a lot of questions about one particular moment in the brothel. This was actually one of my favorite Claire moments and something that I’m going to explain my reasoning for in this post.

3. Explaining her needle

As Jamie, Roger, and Young Ian went off to meet with Stephen Bonnet, Claire and Brianna went to the beach. Before that, they needed to make a trip to a glassblower to get a syringe made. I loved how she had a drawing for it but still had to explain the reasoning for it.

I do wonder if the man would have even questioned it. Had it been another man asking for it, probably not. But because Claire was a woman, it didn’t surprise me. But at the same time, I don’t think he was questioning her intentions but just trying to make sense of what he was making.

The comment to Bree about him possibly thinking they were witches was fun. It’s true. But at the same time, I get the sense that this man really was just trying to work out the use of something with holes either side.

2. Spending time with Bree

We got a chance to see Claire and Brianna spending time together again. This time, it included some throwbacks to Bree’s childhood. This doesn’t happen often on Outlander, as we know Bree spent more time with Frank, so hearing just a little put a smile on my face.

It gave us a chance to watch them see whales. They had the opportunity to discuss the untouched land and the beauty of nature. It just seems so poignant for right now.

1. Diagnosing the prostitute

At the end, Claire and Jamie headed to a brothel to find out where Bonnet was keeping Brianna. Claire talked to a prostitute who we knew had been with Bonnet and Brianna, although she wouldn’t admit that.

This is where the questions about Outlander Season 5, Episode 10 come in. Fans want to know why Claire would focus on diagnosing this prostitute with a condition when she was supposed to be looking for Bree. Well, it was all in the prostitute’s demeanor. It was clear she knew something and was lying about it—and Claire would have known that was out of fear.

Claire decided to use her medical knowledge as a way to get the truth. By helping the prostitute, the prostitute was more likely to give up the information. The prostitute was a terrible liar, and Claire should know; she’s a terrible liar too.
