Outlander Season 5, Episode 10 gave Brianna a chance to show off her compassion and strength. Here are her top three moments from the episode.

Up to this point in Outlander Season 5, Brianna has been more of a support to other characters. Episode 10 was her time to shine, and Sophie Skelton did a wonderful job. Now it’s time to look at the best moments from the episode.

Brianna was compassionate and strong throughout Outlander Season 5, Episode 10. She stood up for herself, tried to deal with a sociopath who she was scared of, and showed some mercy at the end. Here are my three favorite Brianna moments.

3. Reading Moby Dick from memory

For those who missed it, Brianna definitely didn’t pick up a copy of Moby Dick. She was reading the story from memory, which was foreshadowed by her telling her mom that the story was her favorite growing up. The book in hand was The Art of Husbandry.

Brianna showed her willingness to survive throughout this scene and in the ones before it. She knew that fighting Bonnet wasn’t a good idea, so she tried to work her way into his heart. Showing that she was willing to help him, she hoped to gain his trust and get free from him as soon as possible.

Moby Dick was a chance to connect with Bonnet, even though she had no idea that would happen. Her plan was possibly to get him to fall asleep while she read to him, but instead, she got him to open up. He shared a part of himself that he never had before, which would connect to a later top moment.

2. Trying to buy help

When getting Bonnet to trust her failed, Brianna tried to get the prostitute to help her. She knew that the prostitute would likely help for cash, so she removed her silver wedding ring and offered it.

Sadly, it didn’t help, but this moment shows that Bree is willing to sacrifice her possessions for her safety. It shows that she’s growing up a lot, knowing how to encourage people to help her. I do think Bree’s actions here also led to the prostitute eventually telling Claire where Bree was being kept. It wasn’t just Claire’s medical advice.

1. Not giving Roger an answer

At the very end, Brianna showed some compassions for Bonnet. Instead of allowing him to face his greatest fear, she shot him in the head. While there was some mercy, part of her would have also wanted to see him dead. She wanted to know he wasn’t coming back.

But my favorite part in all this was that she didn’t give Roger an answer. He wants to know, as a scholar and as her husband. Yet, this is something only for Brianna to know. And I have to wonder from the look whether Brianna even knows herself.

It doesn’t matter in the end. Bonnet is definitely out of their lives for good.
