Claire and Jamie make love without actually making love during the episode. As Claire things she’s lost Jamie, she takes a step that many others probably wouldn’t have thought of. While using skin to skin to help warm Jamie’s body up, she uses her hands in a certain place to get his blood flowing again.

And it’s certainly a moment from the books. Readers everywhere cheered as this moment came to life on the screen. However, this is more than just the fact that it’s a moment from the books.

It makes our list of best Claire and Jamie moments because of the intimacy. There hasn’t been the chance for intimacy much throughout this season. In fact, there’s not been the chance for many of these moments since Claire returned to the past. So getting these quiet and romantic moments is important.

However, this intimate moment is unconventional. It’s unique in the way that it’s created and the reasons behind it. This is something we haven’t seen on the show before and we likely won’t see on the show again. Claire’s emotions are raw. She’s desperate to get her husband back and will do whatever she can to get the blood flowing again.

It works. Jamie comes back from the brink of death. He even later admits that he knew Claire would find a way to save him—and not just find a way to save his life from the snake bite. She saved every part of him.
