Getting ready for the new episode of Outlander this week? Outlander Season 5, Episode 8 will pick up right where Episode 7 left off.

We’ve been left with questions for an extra week, but Outlander Season 5, Episode 8 will be here before you know it. Want to know where we’re picking up in the story? It’s right off the bat from where Episode 7 left us.

At the end of “The Ballad of Roger Mac,” we were left with Jamie getting Roger’s body down from the tree. Claire held her daughter as they looked on in shock. Of course, right now, there’s a hood over the face, but we (and they) know that it’s Roger.

This is where we’re picking up in “Famous Last Words.” In an interview with Collider, Sophie Skelton shared that we’ll see Jamie bring the body down and Claire try to save Roger. Bree will be rooted on the spot, which fits with the way Brianna reacted upon seeing Roger hanging from the tree. When she’s in shock, she is frozen still until someone can pull her out of is.

What’s interesting is that Skelton shares the episode will be filmed in a way that the show hasn’t done it before. There’s a chance to get a 1960s feel to it.

Does this mean we’re getting some flashes of Brianna and Roger together? We certainly could do with them. I continue to believe that the couple hasn’t had enough time to flesh out their relationship on screen.

If you’ve been disappointed with the Brianna storylines so far, there is some good news. Skelton says that Brianna’s story hasn’t started yet. There’s much more to come in the remaining episodes of Outlander Season 5. Personally, I’m excited to see more of Brianna—and not just her as a mother.
