Was that Claire’s only syringe on Outlander?
During Outlander Season 5, Episode 7, the Browns destroyed Claire’s syringe she needed to inject penicillin. Was that her only syringe she brought back?
Claire and Brianna got to work treating the injured during Outlander Season 5, Episode 7. When Isaiah Morton was brought in, Claire had to use penicillin to help. However, the Browns destroyed her syringe. Was that the only one she brought back from the future with her?
It seems odd that Claire would only bring one syringe back, unless that’s all she could get her hands on at the hospital. She must have known that something could happen to it, so she’d need to make sure that she had access to more than one.
However, she likely only took the one syringe to the battlefield. She wouldn’t want too many people questioning what she had and what she was using to treat her patients. That may have been what the panic was about. She wouldn’t be able to treat more soldiers that came in with injuries and she didn’t know how long the battle would go on for.
If it is her only syringe, she’s going to have her work cut out for her. She’ll need to find a new way to make another syringe to make sure she can treat her patients. This could lead to figuring out how to create something that will work the same way. However, that then leads to more people potentially viewing Claire as a witch if they see her doing such a thing.
It is possibly her only syringe and this is a moment from the novels that is finally coming into the series. At the end of “Voyager,” Claire lost all her syringes from the future. To be able to inject penicillin, Claire and Brianna had to make syringes out of snake fangs. This could be the way to develop this storyline.
Do you think this opens the snake fang storyline? Was that Claire’s only syringe? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
