Brianna put her history knowledge to use in Outlander Season 5, Episode 7. Here’s a look at my three favorite Bree moments from the episode.

Outlander Season 5, Episode 7 was certainly the emotional episode that we were promised. It brought a death, a potential death, and a battle. Brianna had a chance to shine at the same time, and it’s time to look back over the episode with the top Bree moments.

This episode saw Brianna take some control over her role in the Battle of Alamance, especially when she realized what the battle was. Here are my three favorite moments from “The Ballad of Roger Mac.”

3. Focused on warning about Alamance

Brianna learned where the battle was going to take place and immediately recognized the name. It took a little longer to remember the actual battle from her history lessons, but she soon remembered enough to warn Jamie and Claire.

Of course, the discussion went onto the American Revolution and whether the spark would start from somewhere else. Would it be possible to change history this time? Brianna wasn’t sure, but the others were certain they could stop it all.

Sadly, the battle went on as written history. Maybe everyone should agree that big moments in history can’t change!

However, I did love how Brianna was focused on the battle. She went to Jamie and Claire with a purpose and made sure they listened. We need more of this Bree.

2. Deciding to stay at Alamance

After delivering the message and hearing that Roger hadn’t returned from warning Murtagh, Brianna made a decision to remain at Alamance. This was her decision, and that’s what I loved about this moment.

While she said that it was because she’d only worry back at home (and she knew Jemmy was looked after by the Bugs and Lizzie), it was important that Brianna was able to take control of her life. She didn’t have to wait for someone to give her permission to stay.

We certainly need more of these moments for Brianna. Maybe there’s a chance after everything that’s happened.

1. Her reaction to Roger hanging

At the very end of Outlander Season 5, Episode 7, the focus returned on finding Roger. That led to finding bodies hanging from a tree. Jamie and Bree both immediately recognized Roger’s clothing. They knew he was one of the bodies hanging.

Bree’s reaction was so in line with her character. When she was raped by Bonnet, she frozen. It was like an out-of-body experience for her, and that can be worse for recovery. When it came to seeing Roger, she froze on the spot and just looked in horror.

In this moment, she became like a child again, needing her mom to comfort her. However, she didn’t completely break down. It’s going to be interesting to see what comes next for Bree.
