Outlander Season 5, Episode 8: When will the new episode air?

We’re used to getting a new episode of Outlander Season 5 every Sunday. What’s going on with the schedule? When will Episode 8 air?

Phew, what an episode Outlander Season 5, Episode 7 was. Many are still reeling from the events, including all those who knew what was coming with Roger. While you likely suspected what was going to happen to Murtagh, I don’t think anyone was truly expecting the outstanding performance Sam Heughan gave.

And now it’s time to prepare for the next episode, right? We have one Sunday, don’t we? Sadly, Outlander Season 5, Episode 8 is not going to air on Sunday, Apr. 5.

STARZ is taking a week off. It’s not entirely clear why that’s the case. The following week would have made more sense since it’s Easter, but it seems that STARZ wants to give people a little breather after the events of Episode 7.

This isn’t all that uncommon. Big episodes have had breaks before. There was a week break between the Season 2 penultimate episode and the finale (yep, that was super weird) and there was a week break between Season 3’s Episodes 5 and 6.

Season 4 didn’t get a break, so those who started watching from then will be confused by the break this week. However, it will have been planned; it’s got nothing to do with the coronavirus.

We’re not waiting too long. Episode 8, titled “Famous Last Words,” will air on Apr. 12. Instead, next Sunday there’s a daily marathon of Season 5 to keep us entertained.

There isn’t a synopsis for Episode 8 yet, but we do have a trailer. That breakdown will come from me tomorrow, as I’ve been doing every Tuesday. Over the next couple of weeks, I’ll also break down the events that have happened with show-only focuses and book focuses. I like to offer something for all because I understand that not everyone has had the time to catch up on the books.
