The images for Outlander Season 5, Episode 5 have been released. There’s one that stands out as a suggestion the militia will be disbanded.
Outlander Season 5, Episode 5 images are out. One in particular stands out that suggests that the militia may be disbanded, but the others are focused on Jamie’s storyline in Hillsborough.
We’ll likely see more from Fraser’s Ridge throughout the episode. After all, the promo suggests that there’s plenty going on here. Roger will confront Brianna about Bonnet and Claire will perform the tonsillectomy on at least one of the Beardsley twins. However, there is a lot of focus on Jamie dealing with the Hillsborough situation.
Just when you thought the situation was handled with Jamie building the militia to protect the people from the Regulators, the Redcoats cause a problem. But it looks like it all may end with the militia disbanding, albeit temporarily, as happens in “The Fiery Cross.”
There’s one image of Claire and Jamie together, and they’re at the Ridge. I’ve wondered if this will be when Adso shows up, and it certainly seems more possible now after seeing the one image.
That being said, we get images of Jamie in Hillsborough and a selection of them is with Fergus. I’m hoping that Fergus gets some more screentime during this episode. He’s been in the background, called upon for a few scenes but that’s been it. Fergus has always been by Jamie’s side. He has always chosen the Fraser family. It’s time to see him do more.

Some of the images also include Hamilton Knox. It looks like Jamie and Knox will have a game of chess going, although the game probably won’t mean as much as all the games that Jamie and Lord John Grey have had together.
The conversation doesn’t look to be a good one. The people of Hillsborough aren’t happy with the Redcoats, and if they’re not paying their way, I don’t blame them. However, it’s not going to be easy to get the Redcoats to move on when they’re there for “protection.” People will turn to Jamie to help handle everything.

Jamie continues to find himself caught between a rock and a hard place. He needs to protect his family but that means working with the Redcoats. At the same time, he understands the complaints the people of Hillsborough will have.
This is certainly going to be a tense episode as we see how Jamie continues to walk between the two fires.
