5 biggest questions after Outlander Season 5, Episode 4
Outlander Season 5, Episode 4 saw the militia in Brownsville. Here are the biggest questions after the episode for the rest of the season.
We’re a third of the way through Outlander Season 5 now, and we still have plenty of questions to answer from the first three episodes. While we got some answers in Episode 4, there are more questions that have developed. It’s time to look at the biggest questions for Outlander Season 5, Episode 4.
While some of the answers are in “The Fiery Cross,” I know there are many readers who are show-first fans or are Showlanders (those who only watch the show). That means I ask the questions from a TV viewer POV.
5. Is there a reason for Bree to worry about Bonnet?
Brianna spent the episode fearful of Bonnet heading to Fraser’s Ridge. She moved herself, Jem, and Lizzie from the cabin to the main house, where she’d be surrounded by others. It was an excellent decision for all sorts of reasons, but does she really need to worry about Bonnet?
We know that Bonnet believes he’s a father. He could certainly head to the Ridge for Jemmy. Arguably, there’s no reason for Bree not to take precautions but she can’t live her life in fear.
4. Will more of the Dr. Rawlings Recommends leaflets make the papers?
Oh dear! We found out what happened with the scrap that Fergus took to the printers. One of the Dr. Rawlings Recommends leaflets was printed. Jamie and Claire didn’t really discuss this too much, but is it possible that this will cause a problem in the future?
Could we see Claire decide to send more of the leaflets to the printers? Will the people of the Ridge send the ones that they’ve received? Will anyone find out that Claire is the one behind the pseudonym?
3. Will the Browns follow Jamie’s orders?
Jamie and the Browns came to an agreement. After everything that happened in Brownsville, the Browns agreed to join the militia with their own men. However, their own men would be answerable to them. Jamie made it clear that the Browns will answer to him.
Can we really trust the Browns? These are men who were willing to shoot and kill a man Alicia Brown loved! Their actions could cause problems in the future.
2. Does Jamie trust Roger?
Poor, Roger! He’s not cut out for the 18th century, but he is trying. It’s just hard to do things the 18th century way when you’re used to the 20th century way of life. So, naturally, he got a few things wrong in Brownsville.
It looks like Jamie doesn’t trust Roger to be part of the militia. Claire tried to make Roger feel better, but still, it was a convenient way to keep Roger out of the firing line. Things aren’t easy between Roger and Jamie, but they need to learn to trust each other.
1. Will Claire’s penicillin be ready?
Claire needs to head back to the Ridge. She needs to get her penicillin to work on the Beardsley twins, especially Kezzie. We didn’t get to see much of Marsali working on the penicillin, but we can trust that she was following the orders Claire gave her.
Will the penicillin be ready by the time Claire returns? Will she have something that she can work with? Hopefully it will for the sake of the boys.
