Claire is a healer. She wants to help save lives, so her actions in Outlander Season 5, Episode 2 made a lot of sense to me. Here are her top moments.

There’s no doubt that Claire just wants to do good. She wants to make the 18th century a safer place to live, and that can mean doing some dangerous things. In Outlander Season 5, Episode 2, she certainly makes a dangerous choice in performing the autopsy.

Yes, there is some debate over whether she should have done this. There’s even debate over whether she would have done this. The version of Claire we’ve got in the show? Most definitely. At least, that’s my opinion.

Claire had some strong moments throughout the episode. Here are my top three Claire moments in Outlander Season 5, Episode 2.

3. Making Marsali her apprentice

I have loved this adaptation to the books the minute I saw a hint of it in the trailer. It turns out that it may not completely remove a certain storyline from “The Fiery Cross,” but that doesn’t take away from my enjoyment of seeing Marsali and Claire working together. They have a mother/daughter dynamic, but it’s clear that Marsali feels a little guilty for that considering who her mother is.

However, this is about Claire. When she realizes that there’s no way Brianna will help, Claire looks at Marsali butchering the pig. She knows right away that Marsali would be a perfect apprentice.

This is a huge step. It requires trust. For all Claire knows, Marsali could decide that she doesn’t trust Claire at all and tell the Ridge exactly what was buried in that coffin. Instead, she reacted with questions and listened to her surrogate mother/mother-in-law. Claire knew this was how Marsali would react and made it clear why she needed Marsali to be her apprentice.
