Outlander takes us behind the scenes of the big wedding
The Outlander Season 5 premiere was mostly focused on Brianna and Roger’s wedding. The show takes us behind the scenes to see how it was put together.
Despite the show now being on the air, STARZ hasn’t held back with promotion and keeping the Fraser/MacKenzie family in our mind. The latest is a behind the scenes look at the big wedding on the Outlander Season 5 premiere.
Much of the premiere was focused on the wedding. In fact, it’s been something that a lot of promotion was focus on during the lead up to the series. It’s not surprising that the focus remains on that as we wait for the second episode.
During the video, we get to head from the set designers and the new costume designer, Trisha Biggar. Set and costumes are among the most important parts of the show, bringing the 18th century to life in ways we never expected. We know that the Big House was much bigger than Matt B. Roberts (and fans) thought it would be, but Jon Gary Steele felt like it was important to bring us this. And who can argue wth the set designer?
The cast also shared a few thoughts on the wedding, showing off specific details on their costumes. Something you may have missed when watching the episode the first time was the beautiful purple thistles on Lord John Grey’s waistcoat. He may be English, but he has always been respectful of Jamie and his Scottish heritage, even if he didn’t agree with the Jacobites.
While Lauren Lyle and Cesar Domboy talked about filming with the kids, Maria Doyle Kennedy focused on what was so great about this episode. It was the fact that they were all together, something that rarely happens on the set. Characters who wouldn’t usually interact got the chance to share a little screen time.
Check out the behind the scenes of the Fraser-MacKenzie wedding and get ready for the fun and drama of Outlander Season 5, Episode 2.
