5 biggest questions after the Outlander Season 5 premiere

Outlander Season 5 Key Art and Marketing Shoot - Sep 17-21 2019

The Outlander Season 5 premiere ended with mixed emotions. We were also left with multiple questions for the next episodes. Here are the five biggest ones.

Droughtlander is over, and it’s over in a spectacular way. The Outlander Season 5 premiere stands out as the best season premiere from the series so far. It brought multiple emotions from start to finish and left us with some major questions.

Some questions are bigger than others. These are the five questions that I have for the rest of the episodes this season.

5. Can Jamie really follow through with his orders?

Jamie doesn’t have much of a choice but to follow Governor Tyron’s orders right now. That doesn’t mean he wants to, though. He’s trying to find a way to balance everything, but he did decide to call the men of the Ridge to stand by him in the fight against the Regulators.

We know he’s going to start building a militia. The question is whether he’ll actually be able to go through with it all when it comes to the fighting. We’re not going to find that out for a while.

4. What is next for Claire?

We got to see Claire back in her element in her own surgery. She’s making sure the people of the Ridge are healthy, including Josiah Beardsley. However, she doesn’t yet have all the tools that she needs.

This is something that will need to grow. We know that she’s going to start working on making her own penicillin, but what else is next for Claire on the Ridge?

3. What will Bree do knowing Bonnet is out there?

Brianna was left shaken during her wedding. Jamie and Lord John don’t realize it but Brianna overheard John sharing the news that Bonnet is still alive. Not only is she scared for herself, but she’s scared for her child.

Unable to tell anyone else, Bree suffered in silence during the episode. Is this something that will continue or will she find someone to talk to. This would be a good chance to bond with Marsali, in my opinion.

2. Does Roger really want to go back?

Roger spent time thinking about going back to his own time. It’s going to be an ongoing thing, but does he really want to head back to his own time? As Brianna points out in the Outlander Season 5 trailer, their family is here in the 18th century.

Understanding why is actually relatively easy. He’s not a man fit for the 18th century and he continually doubts himself as being able to fit in. He knows he can provide for his family in his own time. But will he go through with it? Even if we didn’t have the books to tell us, we can go with “no,” right?

1. What will Murtagh do now?

Jamie asked Murtagh to be hard to find. From the promo of the next episode, it’s clear that Murtagh will continue his work with the Regulators, but what exactly will he do now?

Those who know the stories of the Regulators from history will have some sense of idea. It’s about to get worse for everyone involved.
