Outlander Season 5, Episode 1 delivered a beautiful wedding. It also brought some strong Roger moments. Here are my five favorite Roger moments.

Roger Wakefield MacKenzie stood proud as he married Brianna Ellen Randall Fraser in the Outlander Season 5 premiere. He also had the chance to make a blood oath and give Jocasta a piece of his mind. Just which moments stood out the most? That’s something we’re going to take a look at.

There were some excellent moments for sure, and it can be hard to break them all down. Here are my five favorite Roger moments.

5. His moment with Germain

We get to see Roger as an uncle in the Outlander Season 5 premiere. It’s only a quick flash, but he picks up Germain and ruffles his hair. This opens up a conversation about Presbyterians and heretics.

During this brief interaction, Germain brings up Jamie’s thoughts about Roger’s religion. Not only does Jamie dislike that Roger stayed behind to think about whether he could be with Bree, but he also has a thing against his religion. And it’s soon clear there’s a problem Jemmy was baptized by a Presbyterian minister.

It’s only a small part of the episode, but still says a lot about the time and some of the tensions in the family.
