The Outlander Season 5 premiere was beautiful, although certainly had heartbreaking moments. Here are the five Jamie moments that stood out the most.
Sam Heughan certainly delivered throughout the Outlander Season 5 premiere. There wasn’t a fault every time Jamie was on screen, whether it was to think about his options with Governor Tryon breathing down his neck or whether it was having a heartfelt moment with Brianna.
It’s hard to break down episodes and find top moments. There was a lot happening throughout the premiere, which makes it even harder. Personally, I think Matt B. Roberts did a tremendous job, and this has quickly become my favorite premiere out of all five seasons so far.
So, with that in mind, there are a lot of Jamie moments that stand out. These are my five favorite ones.
5. The call to arms
The call to arms was powerful. After realizing there was no way around it, he made the choice to light the fiery cross and ask those around him to join him. He had hoped that Roger would be the first to stand by his side, but Roger wavered. Morton was the first.
However, Jamie didn’t give Roger a chance to waver again. Instead, he called his son-in-law out by name and made him captain of the militia. Roger knows nothing about fighting, so shouldn’t really have that position. However, Jamie wants to keep his son-in-law safe, and this is the best way to do it.
While Jamie doesn’t necessarily like Roger all that much at the moment or think he’s worthy of Brianna, he knows that he could never forgive himself if he let something happen to the man. This was a moment that should make everyone proud.
