Outlander Season 5 premieres in one week: Comcast news, ways to get ready, and more!

This is officially your one-week warning. Outlander Season 5’s premiere will be here next week and here’s all you need to know to get ready.

Just in case you’ve been living under a rock recently, this is your one-week alert. Outlander Season 5 premieres next Sunday, and I want to make sure you’re going to be ready. This isn’t about what you need to know about the season but what you need to know about ways to watch.

The official release date is Feb. 16, 2020. If you have the STARZ App, you’ll be able to watch at midnight. In fact, some timezones were getting it an hour or so early during Season 4, so you may be able to watch it on Feb. 15. I strongly suggest checking your app at 11 p.m., especially if you’re on the Pacific Coast.

For those who watch on the channel, the episode airs at 8/7c. However, if you get the channel, you’ll need to make sure you will definitely keep it.

Comcast and STARZ

Despite a deal being reached, Comcast has been alerting customers recently about a change to their service. Instead of being part of the standard cable package, those who want STARZ will need to pay extra.

Between Feb. 11 and Feb. 28, you’ll be able to get STARZ for an additional $5 per month for six months. After the 28th, you’ll need to pay the full $8.99 per month.

Of course, instead of adding it onto Comcast, you could get the STARZ App for $8.99 per month. You’ll also want to call Comcast to discuss this. After all, if you already signed a contract that included STARZ in the base deal, you could have an argument about not having to pay extra now. It all depends on wording (and I’m not a lawyer so can’t advise there).

Where to get the STARZ App

I think the best way to watch is through the STARZ App. You can get that directly from the STARZ website. Or you can add it to your Hulu or Amazon account for no extra cost. These are options to consider.

The benefit of the app is that you have full control over when you watch the episode. It’s released by midnight each Sunday, so you can choose to watch it whenever you want during the day. Plus, you have access to all previous episodes, so you can rewatch them all as much as you want.
