Outlander Season 5 promos: The order of the individual promotional material

You’ll have noticed that STARZ is doing individual character promotion for Outlander Season 5. Here’s a look at the order. Claire and Jamie are coming.

Something you will have noticed is that STARZ is promoting the individual characters on Outlander Season 5. It’s all started with Roger and we’ve since moved onto Brianna. There have been questions about Claire and Jamie. Please, stop panicking! They’re not being forgotten about!

It’s ludicrous that anyone would think that Claire and Jamie would be forgotten about. Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe are the leads of the series. However, the cast is growing considerably, moving into an ensemble cast. And because of that, we have some exciting promotional material for the upcoming season.

For those who are worried about not seeing the Frasers in the promotions, it’s worth running through, what I think, is the plan from STARZ. There’s an order to this promotion.

Caitriona Balfe and Sam Heughan are billed No. 1 and No. 2 respectively. Then comes Duncan Lacroix, and then Sophie Skelton and Richard Rankin. In that order. Now work your way backward. See a pattern?

The promotion started about five weeks before the premiere of Outlander Season 5, which suggests that there’s a week(ish) of promotion for each character, working backward in billing order.

That could (more like should, if I’m right) mean that Murtagh is next. I’m not sure if Murtagh will get a lot of promotion, but he should considering his upcoming storyline. While no longer in the books, Duncan Lacroix has been a huge part of the show.

The showrunners chose to keep him around because Murtagh very quickly became a fan-favorite, thanks to the development the show was able to give him. That’s nothing bad about the books, but when the story originally started just from Claire’s POV, it was difficult to round out the side characters. They were all from her point of view, while the TV show offers a third-person POV into everyone.

But I digress. The promotion is either going to move onto Murtagh next or we’ll get Sam Heughan’s Jamie Fraser. Then it will all finish with Caitriona Balfe as Claire Fraser.

Each of them stand for something different. Roger stands for love, Brianna stands for destiny. The official Outlander Season 5 trailer including standing for hope and history, and of course, we have the key art that says “Stand for All.” Will these be the three things that the three remaining characters stand for? What about freedom? Family? There are so many things that fit the individuals.

But one thing is for certain. We’re getting Claire and Jamie eventually. Right now, we need to focus on Roger and Brianna, as the two characters growing in importance in the series.
