Are you worried about what to expect from Richard Rankin in Outlander Season 5? Some fans were disappointed about his character in the fourth season or the portrayal of storylines. However, it looks like there’s no need to worry about the fifth season, as Diana Gabaldon and Maril Davis only have good things to say.

It all started with Davis sharing the promotional material for Roger this season. It’s all focused on his stand for family and love. He will do anything to protect his family, and will even sacrifice his wants to head back to the future for Brianna and Jemmy. He will find a way to make life work in the 18th century.

Diana Gabaldon quickly retweeted the promotional material sharing that Rankin “killed it” this season. While fans may be worried about some of the invention that has to happen in the season, especially after seeing the uniform that Jamie will eventually wear, Gabaldon sounds extremely happy with the upcoming season.

Davis then followed on with a retweet of Gabaldon’s words, completely agreeing with the statement. This sounds like a strong season for Rankin.

And the strong season isn’t all that surprising. “The Fiery Cross” has some heartbreaking, scary material in it for Roger. He’s going to face a life-or-death situation in a couple of instances, and not always his own life on the line. At least, if the show sticks to two particular moments in the book, he’s facing perilous situations.

The show should keep these moments in. They are extremely important for Roger’s character, especially with his relationship with Jamie.

We’ve had a small glimpse of things to come for Roger in Outlander Season 5. The words from Diana Gabaldon and Maril Davis only make us all the more excited.
