Outlander Season 5 BTS photo: Some father-in-law/son-in-law bonding

STARZ has released another behind the scenes photo for Outlander Season 5. It looks like some bonding is happening between father-in-law and son-in-law.

While most of the big Outlander Season 5 promotion has happened, STARZ is still keeping the show in our sights. That’s not surprising with a little more than a month to go before the premiere. And so, we’ve got another behind the scenes photo of the season, giving us a little hint of father-in-law/son-in-law bonding.

Okay, so it’s actually Sam Heughan and Richard Rankin clearly taking a break. Rankin’s camera is by his feet as they sit on their chairs, watching whatever is going on with the cast in the distance. They also look like they’re having a conversation, possibly discussing some of the scenes they recently filmed or just planning on drinks after filming has wrapped for the day.

It looks like the image is from an early scene of Outlander Season 5. There are hints of them being close to where Caitriona Balfe and Sophie Skelton were in a recent behind the scenes photo, hinting that this could be just as everyone is getting ready to ride out to form the militia.

However, it’s fun to imagine that Jamie and Roger are spending some time getting to know each other. The two have had the chance to film more scenes together this year; scenes that won’t involve one of them being beaten to an inch of his life! While they’re not going to be the best of friends, they certainly have a mutual understanding of each other. After all, they both love Brianna and want the best for her.

Just in case you can’t quite make out who it is, Kyle Rees commented on the Instagram post to share that John Quincy Myers is also in the photo. You can see him in the top left sitting on the grass. I think someone needs to get him a chair!
