25 Shows on Netflix during Droughtlander: The Witcher joins the list
Are you looking for something new to watch during Droughtlander? Netflix has you covered with plenty of Originals, including The Witcher.
If you’re looking for a new show to check out during Droughtlander, there’s a new addition on our list of suggestions on Netflix. The Witcher is now officially on the list.
Before we get into why the Henry Cavill-led series is on the list, you’ll want to see the entire list of 25 shows to watch on Netflix during Droughtlander. This is a selection of British shows, period dramas, and those involving time travel to give you a range of everything Outlander offers.
So, why does The Witcher belong on the list? This is a fantasy show based on a book, so that should immediately give you an idea of why it’s on the list. We have a fascination with how books are developed into TV series, whether the show writers can bring our ideas to life properly.
But there’s more to this series than a book development. It’s extremely well written, leaving you with plenty of questions as you get through the first half of the season. After that, you’ll start to gain some of the answers. I don’t want to share some of the twists and turns to avoid the spoilers, but don’t expect the story to be told in a linear fashion when it comes to time.
There’s also a story of love, power, and differences. Cavill’s storyline as Witcher Geralt, a mutant creature in a land of humans, elves, and mages, is just one part of the story. You’ll get to know Yennifer, Ciri, and many more.
The Witcher has many strong female characters. We’re immediately introduced to Queen Calanthe, along with her granddaughter Ciri. Then there’s Yennifer, Tissaia, and other female mages, who share their powerful abilities through magic. And you won’t want to overlook Renfri, and the beautiful scene at the end of the first episode between her and Geralt.
Some great news is that while there’s only one season on Netflix right now, there’s more coming. The Witcher was renewed for a second season ahead of the first season release.
Just make sure you watch the show. This isn’t one where you can have it on in the background. There’s a lot of dialogue and story that you need to listen and pay attention to. It’s all worth it for the excellent, interwoven storytelling.
