We know there’s a new costume designer for Outlander Season 5. The show was quiet on who was taking over. The opening credits confirm our suspicions.
Sadly, Terry Dresbach decided it was time to step back from doing the costumes on Outlander after Season 4. The show has been pretty quiet in who was going to take on that role for Season 5, but we certainly had some suspicions. Now we have full confirmation on the new costumer designer thanks to the Outlander Season 5 opening credits.
The credits is the place for multiple names to pop up, both the cast and some of the crew. We get to see who is doing the music (Bear McCreary, as usual) and who the co-EPs and EPs are (and, of course, Caitriona Balfe and Sam Heughan as producers). But we also get to see who the new costume designer is.
Trisha Biggar is now officially confirmed as the woman behind the costumes for the fifth season. This doesn’t come as a surprise. Back in March, we speculated that Biggar was taking on the role after her resume was spotted with the show listed on it. She had no connection to the show before Season 5, so it was clear that she was taking over the role.
STARZ and Outlander never confirmed this though. Every now and then, her name would pop up, but never in an official capacity. The opening credits is the first official sign.
This isn’t the first time Biggar has worked on a STARZ project. She did the beautiful costumes on Da Vinci’s Demons. She also created those luxurious costumes on Emerald City. Considering what we’ve seen of the costumes in Season 5 so far, there’s no doubt that she’s going to offer something grand for the fifth season. This doesn’t take from everything Dresbach put into the show for four seasons, but it’s good to know someone worthy is taking over Dresbach’s initial start.
Trisha Biggar’s name pops up at the 23s mark of the Season 5 opening credits. I’ll leave you with them so you can see the name for yourself.
