Outlander Season 5 photos: Claire and Jamie head out on militia business?
New Outlander Season 5 images were released on Christmas Day. One of them shows that Claire and Jamie may head out on militia business early.
More Outlander Season 5 images were released on Christmas Day. While one showed us Adso’s introduction, the other gave us a glimpse of the Frasers dealing with what looks to be militia business.
TVLine got the exclusive on the two images released. The one involving what looks to be the militia business sees Jamie with a ledger open and Claire carrying a pistol in her belt. This is the sign that she’s ready for trouble, suggesting that they’re traveling Fraser’s Ridge and gathering men for the militia.
What these images also suggest is that little time is going to be spent on the wedding of Brianna and Roger. We got the hint that it would happen in the premiere episode, thanks to Diana Gabaldon. Now it looks like a lot of the early parts of “The Fiery Cross” are going to be skipped or moved to later parts of the season.
Another option is that they’re cut down to bring in the important parts of the conversations but not the entire scene, which makes a lot of sense in a 12-episode season. Giving us an image of this so early in show promotion suggests that this is happening earlier in the season.
Either way, we can tell that Jamie and Claire are heading out to build their militia together. This is something that happens in the novel anyway, so it sticks to the setting. Claire is a necessary part of war being a doctor (and formerly a World War II field nurse). She’s seen the dangers of war and has the stomach to handle any situation.
She knows how to ease a soldier’s suffering and also knows how to pick them back up after trouble, something we saw in the first season. Claire is one of the best people to have on the sidelines ready for illness, injuries, pick-me-ups, and more.
It certainly gets us excited about Outlander Season 5. After all, there’s a lot of drama that comes with the building of the militia. And we’re also promised created drama just for the show with Jamie/Murtagh/Lord John Grey situations.
