Outlander Season 5 images show Adso’s introduction to Claire

Christmas Day brought two Outlander gifts. The second was a set of images for Outlander Season 5, which included Adso’s introduction to Claire.

Adso is coming to Fraser’s Ridge in Outlander Season 5. That’s certainly no surprise. All the cast has been able to talk about in recent months is out much they love to snuggle with him but how difficult he is to work with onset. That being said, we now get our first glimpse of his introduction.

In “The Fiery Cross,” the wee kitty is found in the woods on the way back to Fraser’s Ridge. Jamie is alone and finds the kitten alone so decides to take him in. However, the kitten goes missing and Jamie is sure that he’s run away, so doesn’t bring him up to Claire. It’s only when Adso bites Claire’s leg in the middle of the night that he comes up and Claire is introduced to the wee thing.

That doesn’t look like it will happen that way in Outlander Season 5. Instead, it looks like Jamie will keep Adso safe along the journey back to Fraser’s Ridge, introducing the grey feline to Claire outdoors. That’s the way it looks in the TVLine photos released on Christmas Day.

It’s certainly a cute introduction, and it makes sense. There’s only so much time available in the show, especially with just 12 episodes this season. The writers will need to reduce the time spent on Adso’s introduction, bringing it right away instead of the drama in the middle of the night.

While Adso’s intro is cute in the book, this is one element of “The Fiery Cross” I can see working well cut down. After all, we can still have the discussion of his size and his name. Where does the name Adso come from, anyway? (Spoiler, it’s very special to Jamie.)
