Lionel Brown is one of the characters confirmed for Outlander Season 5. Who is he from The Fiery Cross to get an idea of what to expect in the show?
Outlander Season 5 has shared some of the names of minor characters confirmed. Lionel Brown was one of them, and he’ll be played by Good Omens‘ Ned Dennehy. If you want to get an idea of how Lionel fits in with “The Fiery Cross” story, you’ve come to the right place.
We’ll only get into “The Fiery Cross” for this post. While Lionel does show up in “A Breath of Snow and Ashes,” we don’t know how much of the story Outlander will include. It’s easier to focus on the likely storyline for the character.
Lionel is introduced while Jamie, Roger, and Fergus are building the militia. While Jamie and Claire head to the Beardleys, Roger and Fergus head to Brownsville. There they come across brothers Lionel and Richard Brown attempting to kill Isaiah Morton.
When the brothers fail, Roger and Fergus tried to diffuse the situation. However, it’s Claire and Jamie, who come with Fanny Beardsley and her infant child, who manage to help find a way to ease the situation. The Frasers need the Browns to look after the heir to the Beardsley lands.
Things aren’t over, though. Lionel’s daughter, Alicia, runs off with Isaiah Morton after the militia is disbanded. The Browns show up against at the Battle of Alamance, again attempting to kill Isaiah. In fact, the two think they’ve succeeded in killing Isaiah and don’t report for duty afterward.
Will Outlander Season 5 follow this storyline? When will the characters appear? All those are questions we’ll get answered as the series continues in February.
