4. Vowing to return

There was this romantic moment for Roger, as he spoke to another prisoner of the Mohawks. He made it clear that Brianna was waiting for him. Well, he thought she was. He also wondered if Brianna had sent Jamie out to beat him and sell him because of everything that had happened back in Wilmington.

However, despite his thoughts and his worries, he knew he would break free of the Mohawks. He took stock of the direction they were traveling in and kept track of the number of days they’d been walking for. This gave him some sort of idea for a plan back to Brianna, and he made a vow to return to her.

3. Opening up to Father Alexandre

In the “idiot hut,” as it would become known, Roger had the chance to meet Father Alexander. He learned about Alexander’s plight and tried to understand why Alexander wouldn’t do something just to save himself.

This was a chance for Roger to tell his story. And he didn’t just tell us everything that happened to him. Roger managed to share his own thoughts and feelings about it. After everything that happened in Outlander Season 4, he shared how he was going to start being selfish.

We got a chance to see Roger at his weakest up to this point. This was the moment he seemed to break and lose a sense of who he was. We knew what would eventually happen, but it still made us feel for him after everything that he had been through.
